hello.

I am a writer. I grew up in Kansas and Texas, but lived for several years in Chicago before moving to Brooklyn, New York in 2004. During my time in Chicago, I began an online journal, glimmergirl.diary-x.com, which I consistently wrote in for nearly seven years (from 1999 to 2005).

My creative work, which includes both poetry and prose, can most commonly be found on small scraps of paper that eventually end up in the garbage. In a non-trash capacity, I have contributed text to several musical works by warmsilence affiliate D. Edward Davis.

In terms of academics, I am currently in the last semester of study for my MA in Liberal Studies at the New School for Social Research in New York City. I've studied with Terri Gordon, Melissa Monroe, Christopher Hitchens, Vera Zolberg, and Jed Perl (who is also my thesis advisor and the head art critic at the New Republic).  My thesis focuses on the critical and philosophical writings of Donald Judd and Robert Smithson.  I haven't decided if I'm going to talk about their art yet.  Time will tell.

Lastly, I am at least fifty percent certain that I'm going to be an art librarian. That's the most certain I've ever been about a career in my life.  Let's call it progress.
